Spelthorne Development Plan - Examination of the Core Strategy and Policies DPD
General

The Council submitted the Core Strategy and Policies Development Plan Document (DPD) and the Allocations DPD to the Secretary of State on 14 June 2007. Both documents were readvertised from 6 March-17 April 2008.

The Secretary of State appointed an independent Inspector, Ms Sara Morgan LLB, MA, to examine both the documents and consider the representations that have been made. The hearing sessions to examine the Core Strategy and Policies DPD took place between 2 and 17 September 2008.

The Inspector’s report was issued on 19 December 2008 and concludes that the Core Strategy and Policies DPD is SOUND. In accordance with statutory procedures, the Council will move towards formal adoption of the DPD in early 2009.

Arrangements for the examination of the Allocations DPD will be made in 2009. The Programme Officer, Geoff Benge TechRTPI, will contact relevant parties in due course. Any queries relating to the examination process should be emailed to him at: g.benge@spelthorne.gov.uk
