Local Development Framework (Spelthorne Development Plan)
Local Development Frameworks (LDFs)
New planning legislation introduced through the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 requires all local planning authorities to produce a new plan for their areas to replace existing local plans. These new plans are called Local Development Frameworks (LDF). The LDF is a folder of different documents referred to as Local Development Documents (LDD). LDD’s include Development Plan Documents (DPDs), Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs), a Statement of Community Involvement (SCI), an Annual Monitoring Report and a Local Development Scheme.
The Council is now preparing the Local Development Framework for Spelthorne to replace the existing Local Plan and to address planning issues in the Borough up to 2026.
