Parks for People programme provides grants of between £100,000 and £5million to restore and rejuvenate historic parks and cemeteries. Organisations can apply for funding for projects that involve the community in the running of the park, aim to repair heritage features, open new facilities and run volunteering and activity programmes including physical activity.

SITA Trust provides funding for physical improvements to community leisure amenities through the Landfill Communities Fund. Not for profit organisations including sports clubs, charities, local authorities and councils can apply for projects that make physical improvements to community leisure facilities and historic buildings/structures. There are two funds available - Primary Fund: grants of up to £50,000 and Smaller Projects Fund: grants of up to £20,000.

Jewson have money available to support community building projects of all shapes and sizes, no matter how innovative or ambitious. The top prize is £50,000 to help pay for both materials and labour. There are other prizes of between £1,000 and £5,000 to cover the cost of building materials.

Surrey County Council's Community Improvements Fund exists to help transform community project into reality.
If your planned project involves improving a shopping parade then the smallest grant you can apply for is £5,000. Meanwhile if you're planning anything else the minimum grant is £10,000. For all types improvements the maximum grant is £30,000.

The Fund is open for applications with £350,000 to distribute to community groups across the UK this summer. There's £12,500 up for grabs in each M&S region across Great Britain to use towards the installation of a renewable energy technology and generate energy for your community building. Online applications for 2016 closed on 31 May.The scheme will be available for 2017 as well.
