The achievements of 39 very special young people were celebrated at an awards ceremony at Shepperton Film Studios on Tuesday 14 May. 

Organised by Spelthorne Borough Council, the Spelthorne Youth Awards recognise the outstanding talents and achievements of local young people and the contributions they make to their communities. 

Each nominee was presented with a certificate of achievement by the Mayor, Mrs Jean Pinkerton OBE, and eight young people received star awards - a glass trophy and £50 in cash:-

Triumph over adversity

Guests on the night were treated to two fantastic performances by Spelthorne's Got Talent finalists, the Dancing Dolls, and Param Patel who played the Tabla, an Indian percussion instrument.

The Mayor of Spelthorne said: "It has been inspiring to listen to the stories of these young people and I have been incredibly moved by them all. With young people like this our future and community is in very safe hands. Thank you to Shepperton Film Studios for continuing to support this event."
