"The acquisitions which Cllr Harvey and the Cabinet have pursued have allowed this Council to continue to provide front-line services to the residents of this Borough. There have been stringent cuts coming from the County Council but we have managed to avoid them. Madam Mayor, being Leader of the Council is a task which requires diplomacy, planning and forethought. I commend the appointment of Cllr Harvey to this Council for the next four years."
Speaking after his re-election at the Council meeting, Cllr Harvey said: "I would like to thank Members for again showing their faith in my leadership by re-electing me as Leader of the Council. I, supported by my Cabinet, pledge our continued best efforts to meet the needs, expectations and aspirations of the residents of our Borough going forwards."
Cllr Harvey then announced his 2019/20 Cabinet:-
|Deputy Leader and Finance||Cllr Tony Harman|
|Community Wellbeing and Housing||Cllr Maureen Attewell|
|Environment and Compliance||Cllr Richard Barratt|
|Corporate Management||Cllr John Boughtflower|
|Economic Development and Customer Services||Cllr Olivia Rybinski|
