While many local authorities are closing public toilets needing maintenance work, Spelthorne Borough Council is bucking the trend
Issued: May 2019
Working alongside the River Thames Task Group on a number of improvements for river users, the Council has officially opened newly refurbished toilets at Shepperton Lock. The refurbishment work included the renewal of the floor and ceiling coverings and the addition of new cubicles, toilets, vanity units, taps, washroom accessories and baby changing facilities. Disabled facilities are also available.
Cllr Vivienne Leighton who chairs the River Thames Task Group, said: "This work has greatly improved the facilities for river users, providing fresh modern toilets which are pleasant to use and practical for the Council to maintain. Thank you to everyone involved in the project."
