Find out more about Spelthorne's business waste recycling scheme

Surrey County Council (SCC) was recently successful in a bid to SEEDA (South East England Development Agency), for funding to facilitate a business waste recycling scheme in Spelthorne for Small to Medium sized Enterprises (SME's).

This project fits in with WRAP's (Waste and Resources Action Programme) 'Recycle at work' programme.

The bid was submitted jointly by, and is a partnership project between SCC, Dove Recycling  and Business Eco Group. This project is due to commence in spring 2007 and is being supported by Spelthorne Borough Council.

Dove’s website gives details as to the service they can provide and the materials they can collect. To simplify the process, they will provide a month's free trial period, during which time you can gauge whether their service is right for you - without any obligation on your behalf. This will include a meeting with you prior to the trial to advise of their whole approach including suggestions on how best to engage with employees.

Following the trial period, Dove will be in a position to quote a price, and should you be in agreement, you will enter into a contract directly with them.

The more local businesses that participate in such a recycling collection scheme will inevitably enable the project to be more cost effective.

We are now looking to recruit Spelthorne based companies to participate in this scheme.
