Support for new start up businesses in Spelthorne
Surrey Chambers of Commerce and Spelthorne Borough Council have begun a new scheme to help new businesses through their start -up period.  The scheme will help reduce the statistic, recently released by the Federation of Small Businesses which is that 60% of new companies fold within their first three years.

This new scheme has been welcomed by everyone who has come into contact with it and furthermore BusinessLink Surrey is offering a monthly clinic to support the businesses to ensure they are doing what is necessary for them to succeed. Each business has been given a business mentor who is in the same industry as that business and the mentor will provide them with a source of real industry experience.

Some companies have already moved in and begun operating from the office and will  pay £150 per month. This enables them to move out of a home environment to and into a tangible office area where they will have a desk and filing cabinet each for them to centralise their business. The office, as well as being divided among the businesses, has a private meeting room and a rest area as well as a full time receptionist to help the businesses complete their administrative work.
