HACKNEY CARRIAGE MAXIMUM FARES CHART FROM 9 AUGUST 2007 The driver must, unless he has a reasonable excuse, accept any hiring within the Borough of Spelthorne.   This fare card must be displayed inside the taxi and must be visible to the passengers at all times.   The fare for such journeys, whether or not the journey is one which the driver is obliged by law to undertake, is as follows:
TARIFF 1    For a hiring daily between 6am and 11pm
First mile (1609 metres) or part thereof.
£3.20
Each subsequent 176 yards or part thereof. £0.20
Waiting - Each period of 40 seconds or part thereof. £0.20
TARIFF 2    Extra charges
For a hiring between 11.00 pm and 6.00am and Public Holidays (except Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Years Day). One and half times tariff 1 above
TARIFF 3    For a hiring Christmas Day, Boxing Day or New Years Day. Twice tariff 1 above
A    Additional charges:
For each article of luggage conveyed outside the passenger compartment. £0.20
B    For each person in excess of two. £0.20
C    For each animal, excluding registered assistance dogs. £0.20
D    A soiling charge, if soiled by the action of a passenger, to cover the loss of income due to the vehicle being cleaned. £50.00
IMPORTANT If the journey takes the cab outside the borough of Spelthorne, the driver must still charge in accordance with the above scales unless he has agreed otherwise with the hirer BEFORE THE JOURNEY HAS STARTED.   ANY COMMENTS OR CONCERNS should be reported immediately to the Taxi Licensing Officer, Spelthorne Borough Council, Council Offices, Knowle Green, Staines, TW18 1XB with the number of the cab or the number of the driver’s badge.   Complaints can also be notified by telephone to 01784 446439 from Monday to Thursday, 8.30am to 5.30pm and Friday 8.30am to 5pm.
