In Staines there is a scheme in operation called ”StaiSafe”.  As part of Home Office accredited 'Safe Shopping' in Staines, StaiSafe is an information-sharing scheme run by the retailers to reduce crime and disorder through intelligence, radios and CCTV etc.
Staisafe is known locally as "Businesses in Staines Against Crime".  It is a collaboration of retailers and key agencies including Surrey Police.  The initiative operates as an information-sharing scheme to target prolific offenders.  Exclusion notices can be served, along with sharing of information about offenders. All members are signed up to ShopSafe Radio, with links to Surrey Police, Safer Runnymede, Two Rivers Security and Elmsleigh Security. Funding has been agreed by the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership to assist with the expansion of this scheme. For further information contact Ray Newell on 0787 240125 or e-mail the Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership.
