Close contact is kept with local businesses to ensure their community safety needs are tackled.  The development of the CCTV network in Spelthorne is an example of close co-operation  to address local hotspots.The Staisafe scheme will help Staines Town Centre businesses to combat crime together.
StaiSafe
As part of the Home Office accredited 'Safe Shopping' in Staines initiative, StaiSafe has been set up to provide information sharing amongst retailers about crime and disorder.
CCTV
Mobile CCTV cameras are deployed in 'hotspots' around the borough.
Licensed premises
Premises are now under more stringent conditiond and preparations are in place for the Licensing Act 2003, which promotes the prevention of crime and disorder.
Trading Standards
Trading Standards staff carry out work on under-age alcohol sales and are part of the Surrey Together Project.
