 Local health services The NHS website (external website) provides all local health services information including: NHS Direct 0845 4647 (24 hour nurse led help line providing confidential healthcare, advice and information) Sexual health advice for young people Details of local sexual health services for young people are available on the Spelthorne Youth website (external website) . Sexual health and Family Planning clinics The family planning clinics are free and confidential to both men and women of all ages. They offer advice on, and provide supplies of all methods of contraception, including free condoms, emergency contraception, pregnancy testing and sex related advice. Sexually transmitted infections If you have any worries about having unprotected sex and sexually transmitted disease you can contact a health advisor based at a Genito-urinary Medicine Clinic (GUM clinic). These clinics are also known as sexually transmitted infection clinics. They offer free confidential advice, counselling and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections and other genital conditions.  Pre and post HIV counselling and HIV tests are also available.  Emergency contraception is also available from these clinics.  You can book yourself and appointment and do not need to see your doctor first. Confidentiality is guaranteed by law in GUM/STI clinics and no information about you is passed out of the clinic without your permission.  To find you nearest clinic go to the Family Planning Association website (external website). Advice regarding HIV and AIDs Terrence Higgins Trust (THT)
THT delivers health promotion campaigns, national services and local services directly to people with or affected by HIV and people at risk from our centres across England and Wales. They provide advice and support if you are living with HIV, know someone who is, or think you might be at risk of HIV.  THT website (external website) National AIDS Helpline This is a free, confidential 24 hour service (will not be shown on the phone bill), to give support, advice and information on HIV/AIDS and sexually transmitted infections.  Telephone: 0800 012322.  Website: www.aidshelpline.org.uk (external website) Need someone to talk to? Youth Counselling Service A free and confidential short term counselling service for young people age 12-24 in West Surrey and the Rushmoor area of Hampshire. Counselling is available for various issues including relationships, families, drugs, pregnancy, sexuality, stress, bullying, feeling low, depression or anything else that worries you. The service is provided by the Health Promotion Service. You can contact the Youth Counselling Service by phoning 07795 968529.
