Desk study

The investigation strategy was based on two techniques:
a herringbone grid and targeted sampling. The herringbone grid is the best method for finding all the hotspots of contaminants across the site. The targeted sampling locations came from the detailed information given to us by residents who found something unusual on their properties. The use of these together make us confident that hotspots are found during the investigation. Hyder's site investigation strategy report Factual report
The report is factual in nature and describes the nature and extent of the fieldwork and sampling undertaken, and reports the results of the analysis. It does not include any interpretation of the results. All the links are to Adobe Acrobat pdf documents. Adobe Acrobat reader can be downloaded free of charge from their website. Please note: For the purposes of anonymity all references to individual property addresses have been removed from the report. This has affected: Figures 1 (table amended to only display property reference) Figure 2 (removed) Table 6.1 (column removed showing property addresses) All references to any of the 35 properties sampled have been substituted with a property reference (A1 to A35). We will continue to give out property references to those who want to know specific information about their property. This will be posted to home addresses only. Interpretive report
The Environment Agency has confirmed that only a low level of pollution has entered the groundwater and therefore has had little environmental impact. The Health Protection Agency has confirmed the information we sent to the residents. Both of these responses have been forwarded to Hyder Consulting for inclusion in the final draft of the report.
