Street parties

Street parties are a traditional part of community life; they are a simple way for us to get to know our neighbours and meet members of our community. We want to make it easier to hold these sorts of local events, without having to plough through mountains of forms and red tape. Our street parties guide includes one simple form for you to use to let Spelthorne Council know about your plans, so you can get on with the real work of organising a fun event. You might be eligible for a small grant to help make your street party go with a swing. Contact  community.safety@spelthorne.gov.uk and put Street Parties in the subject line. You will be contacted and asked for details of your event, which will determine whether or not you are eligible for a grant. If you would like to hold a street party, use the form here (Word 281kb) to let Spelthorne Council know about your plans – especially if you wish to close a road for the event. The top tips tip for holding a party are Reasons to celebrate in 2012 include the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee in June and the London 2012 Olympics and Paralympics in July. You don’t have to hold your street party on a specific day.
