Description: An area of predominantly open land adjoining a large built up area, which is kept open to prevent urban sprawl. Large parts of Spelthorne are designated as green belt and are subject to strict policies restricting new development. The adopted Local Plan shows the boundary of the green belt in Spelthorne and contains policies governing development in green belt areas.
