Council Services
Service: Public meetings
Responsible Authority: Spelthorne Borough Council
Service Area: Committee Services
Description: The public are able to attend most committee meetings at the Council, including Planning Committee Meetings, Licensing Committees and The Executive. From June to October 2005, the Council has been processing a high volume of Licensing Applications, which in some 39 cases has resulted in a Public Hearing taking place. This has given members of the public an opportunity to voice their opinions concerning extended opening hours of licensed premises in their local area. During late 2005 and early 2006 the Gambling Act 2005 will begin to be implemented, which will follow a similar procedure to that of the Licensing Act.
