What is Business Rates?
Business Rates are essentially a tax on occupation or ownership of properties used for business purposes. The two main elements of the charge are the Rateable Value which is set by the Valuation Office (An Inland Revenue Agency) and the multiplier which is set annually by Central Government for England.
