Surrey Gains Clubmark Licence. Spelthorne Borough Council has worked with Active Surrey to obtain a Clubmark licence from Sport England.  Together we can now award Clubmark accreditation to clubs, whose governing body does not have a licence, to demonstrate their commitment to providing a safe, effective and child friendly sporting environment. All clubs who are affiliated to a Sport England recognised governing body now have the opportunity to gain Clubmark and join Spelthorne’s Clubmark accredited clubs. Clubs who currently hold Clubmark accreditation can take advantage of Clubmark benefits by registering online with Active Surrey. To find out more about Clubmark visit www.activesurrey.com (external website) Club accreditation is a method of recognising and acknowledging quality clubs. It provides a clear and structured approach to improving and developing your club and ensuring that your club has an excellent sporting environment. Working towards club accreditation is essential if your club is looking to gain funding. Clubmark is Sport England's accreditation scheme which was designed to help clubs develop clear policies and procedures to ensure that their clubs are safe, child friendly environments.   If you are interested in working toward accreditation and need some support throughout the process please contact Leisure Services on 01784 446452 or e-mail leisure@spelthorne.gov.uk
