Sexually transmitted infections If you have any worries about having unprotected sex and sexually transmitted disease you can contact a health advisor based at a Genito-urinary Medicine Clinic (GUM clinic). These clinics are also known as sexually transmitted infection clinics. They offer free confidential advice, counselling and treatment of all sexually transmitted infections and other genital conditions. Pre and post HIV counselling and HIV tests are also available. Emergency contraception is also available from these clinics. You can book yourself and appointment and do not need to see your doctor first.
