Published 29.04.2008 10:29 In March 2008, Spelthorne Borough Council’s Revenues and Benefits Teams were awarded the new ‘Customer Service Excellence’ award by the Cabinet Office for excellent customer service to Spelthorne residents. The teams had to comply with five different criteria covering customer insight, culture of organisation, information and access, service delivery and quality of service. The Government Assessor said: “Spelthorne Borough Council Revenues and Housing Benefits teams were found to be enthusiastically committed to the new Customer Service Excellence ethos. The commitment was found from senior management levels through to operation and front-line staff.” The teams had previously held the Charter Mark award from 1997, which has now been superseded by the new Customer Service Excellence award. Spelthorne’s Revenues and Benefits service were one of the first organisations in the country to achieve this prestigious award and the Leader and Chief Executive presented the teams with their award at a small ceremony held at the Council’s Offices on 20 May 2008. Spelthorne would like to thank all its residents who have helped improve the service with their comments over the past year and we look forward to working with our customers to ensure continuous improvement of our service in the future.
