Council invoice payments on-line


We offer various methods of payment.  Below you will find a general guide, however, not all options are available to every service.
Direct debit Customers are encouraged to pay their Council Tax, Business Rate or Council invoice by direct debit and you will be offered a choice of four payment dates for Council Tax and Business Rates.  Further details can be found on your bill or on the Business Rates and Council Tax pages.
Internet, telephone/touchtone payments

These options are available for all services where you receive a bill or invoice. Payments for parking fines, hall and football pitch bookings, bulky waste, building control, taxi licences and car park permits for the disabled can also be made using these facilities.

Payment of bills by debit or credit card can be made anytime using the Councils website payment facility or by touchtone telephone using our lo-call number 0845 602 0727. You can also call Customer Services on 01784 451499 between 8am and 6pm Monday to Friday.
Please note that a fee is payable for payments by credit card for Council Tax and Business Rate as follows:-

2.6% for payments via website or by telephone to an operator
2.3% for payments via touchtone telephone

If you use a service where you do not receive a bill, it may still be possible to pay by debit or credit card. Details will be sent to you with the request for payment. It is also possible to apply for various services and pay for them on-line.
Visit our on-line payments page By post (cheques only) Cheques should be made payable to Spelthorne Borough Council and crossed A/C Payee Only.  Post-dated cheques cannot be accepted. Please write any reference that you have been given on the back of the cheque and send it to the Councils address as follows:-

No receipt will be issued unless you send your bill/invoice/payment together with a stamped self-addressed envelope.

Alternatively cheque payments can be posted in either the external letter box at the Council Offices or in the internal box which can be found in the main reception area.  Please do not send cash by post or post cash in the external or internal letter boxes at the Council Offices.
At the Post Office or Paypoint outlets If your bill or invoice has a barcode on it then you can pay it at any Post Office by cash/cheque or Paypoint outlets by cash only. There is no fee for this service.

By automated payments (BACS) or standing order from your bank account You will need to obtain the necessary forms from your bank instructing them to pay Spelthorne Borough Council. Our bank details are supplied with your invoice/bill or can be provided on request.
