Survey FAQ's
| Date | January 2010 |
| Aims | User surveys were carried out at both the Spelthorne Leisure centre and Sunbury Leisure Centre as part of the National Benchmarking Service for Leisure Centres. |
| Methodology | The National Benchmarking Service uses a combination of user surveys, financial information and catchment population profiles to calculate a range of performance indicator scores for each centre. These scores provide useful information for strategy development and action planning, as well as immediate management decisions. |
| Response Rate | 358 interviews were carried out by in-house staff with users of the Spelthorne Leisure Centre and 387 interviews were carried out with users of the Sunbury Leisure Centre. |
| Main Findings | Key strengths identified at both centres included the standard of coaching and instruction, plus activities being available for users at convenient times. Relative weaknesses however included water temperatures in the pools and some cleanliness issues. |
| Additional Information | These issues have been raised with SLM, who mange the centres on the council’s behalf and new cleaning and monitoring checks have been put in place. A number of actions have also been taken to improve the water temperature of the pools including new automatic temperature controls and new heat exchangers. |
