| This community safety event is being held from 7-9pm on Wednesday 7 September at the Salvation Army Citadel, Woodthorpe Road, Ashford TW15 3JY. During the evening there will be an opportunity to vote on which local project should receive £500, and a Police dog will be put through its paces. |

| A partnership is to be formed between Special Olympics Surrey and the Surrey Canoe Club to provide Kayaking as a new sport for SOS. This club will be called the SOS (Spelthorne) Kayaking Club. Once funding is found for this new sport it is hoped it will be fully operational in October 2011. |

| More than 500 small businesses in Spelthorne have been given an extended period of either not having to pay Business Rates or pay a reduced amount. For the smallest businesses, 328 will have no Business Rates payable this year at all. In addition a further 202 businesses will have partial relief on a sliding scale. |
