Draft revised Statement of Gambling Policy (2010-2013) You are invited to submit your comments on the Draft Revised Statement of Gambling Policy (2010 to 2013). This Policy will be applied to functions Spelthorne Council carry out under the Gambling Act 2005. Spelthorne Together Assembly 2009 - 21 September 2009 The annual Assembly meeting of Spelthorne Together is taking place on 21 September 2009, 9am–1.30pm at Spelthorne Leisure Centre.  This free conference, including lunch, is open to anyone, who lives or works in Spelthorne. Complete the on-line form to reserve your space. Summer Tennis Coaching courses for 11-17 year olds Come along and improve your game with these coaching sessions over the summer! Sessions will include training drills and match play delivered by a qualified coach. Wednesday 29 July, 5, 12, 19 and 26 August at Cedars Recreation Ground (Sunbury) 1.30-2.30pm for 11-13year olds and 2.30-3.30pm 14-17 year olds. Thursday 30 July, 6, 13, 20 and 27 August at Stanwell Recreation Ground 1.30-2.30pm for 11-13year olds and 2.30-3.30pm 14-17 year olds. Friday 31 July, 7, 14, 21 and 28 August at Ashford Tennis Club 1.30-2.30pm for 11-13year olds and 2.30-3.30pm 14-17 year olds. Courses cost just £10 for the five week block and places are limited so book now to avoid disappointment. To book a place please contact Leisure Services on 01784 446433 or leisure@spelthorne.gov.uk Car park season tickets Parking Services offer a wide range of season tickets for regular users of the car parks in the Borough. These allow unlimited parking, are easy to obtain and compared with the daily rates very good value for money. In Staines they are available to anyone working in the town, elsewhere they are available to both residents and businesses. For a 12 month season ticket in Staines the cost is £690, elsewhere residents permits are £20 and business permits £50. Three and six month season tickets are also available. Summer leisure activities Take the heat off this summer with some cool leisure activities in Spelthorne. Leisure Services have been working very hard to organise loads of fun sport, arts, craft and play activities for you to take part in over the Summer holidays. Whatever your age, there is something that everyone will enjoy! South West Trains launches Midsummer Madness £10 deal South West Trains is giving hundreds of thousands of passengers the chance to travel throughout its network for just £10 return this August, with the launch of its new Midsummer Madness promotion.  Available on the majority of Saturdays and Sundays throughout August, passengers will be able to call into their local South West Trainstation and pick up a day return ticket between any two destinations* on the South West Trains network for just £10 or £5 for kids. Commenting on the Midsummer Madness promotion, Stewart Palmer, Managing Director of South West Trains said “There’s no limit on the number of tickets available or how far you can travel – as long as you can get there and back on a South West Trains service in a day, you can travel to any one of the 184 destinations on our route”. Further information and a full copy of the terms and conditions for South West Trains Midsummer Madness promotion can be found on www.southwesttrains.co.uk. * The promotion excludes stations west of Honiton, stations between Warminster and Bristol inclusive and travel to/from the Isle of Wight. Tickets are available on Saturday 1, 8, 15, and 22 August and Sunday 2, 9, 16 and 23 August.  The offer is a day return ticket and all tickets will be priced at £10 per adult and £5 for children.  No further discounts are available (e.g. Railcards, GroupSave etc). Tickets can be bought on the day of travel from any South West Trains station, or booked online and over the phone in advance.
