Description: The number of days a child may perform within a twelve-month period was abolished in October 2000. The Local Authority has discretion in deciding whether to restrict the days of absence from school. All children below statutory school leaving age, including those who have not yet started compulsory schooling, require a licence to perform in entertainment. It is essential that Surrey County Council licences all children engaged in performances of any kind.
