Vehicle Access to/from Your House
Under Class B, Part 2, Schedule 2, of The Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995, it may be possible to create a vehicle access to your house without needing planning permission dependent on a number of criteria.

You will require planning permission if:
  • The access you wish to create is onto/from a Trunk Road or Classified Road.  (you may need to check this information with Surrey County Council Highway Authority on 08456 009 009).
  • There is a planning condition restricting the creation of a vehicle access (you will need to request this information in writing from Spelthorne Borough Council Planning Department, see contact details below).

It is important to note that you will need to apply to Surrey County Council for the construction of the dropped kerb to allow the vehicle access.  For details to make an application visit the Surrey County Council website
