Dangerous structures and public safety
Spelthorne Borough Council has the facilities to deal with dangerous buildings and structures relating to safeguarding members of the public and investigating reports of dangerous buildings and structures within the borough.

Contact can be made during office hours on 01784 446359 and out of hours by contacting the duty officer on 01784 446446.

You may also email building.control@spelthorne.gov.uk for matters that are not considered urgent.

In most cases, Spelthorne Borough Council will give guidance to the building owners on necessary remedial work. In an emergency, immediate action may be needed to make a building or structure temporarily safe and it may be necessary to arrange our own emergency contractors to undertake the work, on behalf of the owner, and to recharge costs incurred to the owners of the property.
