General Housing Information
Stock Transfer
On 22 January 1996 the Council transferred its entire housing stock to Spelthorne Housing Association (a not for profit organisation sponsored by the Council) which is now part of the Apex Housing Group (external website). Nominations are made to vacancies in the stock from the Spelthorne Housing Register, which is run jointly by the Council and all the Housing Associations with properties in the Borough.

Spelthorne Housing Register
A folder containing an application form and information leaflets can be obtained by telephoning 01784 446380/1/2/3/4/5 or by visiting the Housing Advice Centre or one of the Housing Association offices.

For information on who got housed through the Register last year, see Who Got Housed in the 2001/02 Year: A Guide for Applicants.

Housing Advice Centre
The Housing Advice Centre is run by the Council's Housing Needs Section and is located at the Council Offices, Knowle Green.  An officer is always available during opening hours (see below) to give advice to visitors about any housing problem. They can also advise callers about housing options and about the Spelthorne Housing Register which is operated jointly with all the Housing Associations in the Borough.

Private interview rooms are available for more complex or confidential matters, but it may be necessary to make an appointment for this.

A large selection of free leaflets about all aspects of housing are on display. Housing Association tenants seeking a move can also look at mutual exchange (swap) lists at the Centre.

For further information please either come in to the Centre or ring the Housing Needs Section on 01784 446380/1/2/3/4/5.

Housing Advice Centre opening hours: 10am - 4pm Monday, 11am - 3pm Tuesday to Friday, Late Night Opening 5 pm - 7pm Thursday.  Telephone hours 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday, till 7pm Thursday.
