Make money for moving home - A2 residents Have your circumstances changed since you first moved into your current home? Have your children grown up and moved out? Do you have more bedrooms than you need? Could your utility bills be less if you were in a smaller property? Are the stairs becoming difficult for you to manage? We are launching a ‘cash for downsizing’ scheme in partnership with A2 Housing Association, which could benefit you if you are an existing A2 resident and live in this Borough.
Further information about the 'cash for downsizing' scheme
A folder containing an application form and information leaflets can be obtained by telephoning 01784 446380/1/2/3/4/5/6 or by visiting the Housing Advice Centre or one of the Housing Association offices.
The Housing Advice Centre is run by the Council's Housing Needs Section and is located at the Council Offices, Knowle Green. An officer is always available during opening hours (see below) to give advice to visitors about any housing problem. They can also advise callers about housing options and about the Spelthorne Housing Register which is operated jointly with all the Housing Associations in the Borough.
Private interview rooms are available for more complex or confidential matters, but it may be necessary to make an appointment for this.
A large selection of free leaflets about all aspects of housing are on display. Housing Association tenants seeking a move can also look at mutual exchange (swap) lists at the Centre.
For further information please either come in to the Centre or ring the Housing Needs Section on 01784 446380/1/2/3/4/5/6.
Housing Advice Centre opening hours: 10am - 4pm Monday, 1-3pm Wednesday, 11am - 3pm Tuesday, Thursday and Friday. Telephone hours 9am - 5pm Monday to Friday.
