There are no council owned homes in Spelthorne. They were transferred in 1996 to Spelthorne Housing Association, now part of the A2 Housing Group. Under the transfer agreement Spelthorne Housing Association committed to undertaking refurbishment work to the affordable housing stock.

Spelthorne Borough Council has five Housing Association Preferred Partners. The Partners were selected for their experience and commitment to developing new affordable rented housing and to assist the Council in achieving its strategic housing aims. These organisations work closely with the Council and developers to maximise the provision of new affordable rented housing in Spelthorne and to assist the Council in its strategic housing role.
