Finding a new home can be difficult because of a shortage of housing locally and you may not have a high priority banding on our SEARCH Moves system.

If you are the tenant of a Local Authority or a Registered Social Landlord, you may be able to exchange your home with another tenant.  You might want to do this if your present home does not suit your needs perhaps because of the size of your household or because you want to live in a different area.

If you are interested in swapping your home, you can register free at www.homeswapper.co.uk (external website).  The site will help you find another tenant to swap your home with, however, before swapping there are certain conditions which you will have to meet.  Remember that you will need to get permission from your landlord before the mutual exchange can go ahead.
