Houses in Multiple Occupation (HMO)
Houses in multiple occupation (HMO) Our Environmental Health Department deals with rented properties, including houses in multiple occupation to ensure they meet legal standards and that landlords are providing safe and healthy homes for their tenants.

Environmental Health inspects houses in multiple occupation in the Borough and where poor or unsafe accommodation is found, we have a range of powers we can use to require the landlord to carry out remedial works.

If you are a landlord of a house in multiple occupation or a tenant living in a house in multiple occupation you may find the following information useful.
