We now have had in place for two years two Street Scene Officers to tackle environmental issues. Using new powers under the Cleaner Neighbourhoods and Environment Act 2005 the team will be targeting issues such as litter, dog fouling, fly tipping, abandoned vehicles and trolleys, and will have the power to issue fixed penalties in certain cases.
