Garden waste
twoGarden waste collection scheme

We operate a year round garden waste collection scheme however during the winter months to maximise the efficiency of the service we only operate on two days per week which are as follows:-

Tuesday    Ashford, Stanwell, Staines
Wednesday    Sunbury, Shepperton, Laleham

To request a collection please call the depot on 01784446411 giving at least 24 hours notice.

How does it work?

Any Spelthorne resident wishing to have their green garden waste collected from their property is required to use the Spelthorne bio-degradable garden waste sacks which are on sale at day centres, libraries and the Council Offices at 40p each. The sacks need to placed at the front edge of your property by 6am on the day of collection (the same as your domestic rubbish).

  • The bags must be visible from the road and not weigh more than 10kg. Information on what can and cannot be placed in the sack is written on the sack itself.
  • Avoid placing non degradable materials in with your garden waste as it will contaminate the load and not be collected.
  • Should there be a delay, for any reason, your garden waste will be collected a soon as possible.
If you would like more information on rubbish and recycling, please call the Council Depot on 01784 446411 or e-mail direct.services@spelthorne.gov.uk where a member of staff will be happy to help.
