How the collection service works

A brown garden waste wheelie bin will be delivered to you by the Council. You will also receive an annual membership sticker to display on your bin and information your collection day.  The collection service operates for 10 months of the year and is collected every two weeks.

Your wheelie bin or bag must be placed kerbside by 6am on the day of your collection. Only garden waste contained within the wheelie bin or bag will be collected. Any lapsed membership will result in the garden waste bin not being collected and the bin will be removed.  The garden waste is emptied into a dedicated vehicle and then sent to a local facility to be recycled.

Cost of the service

Hire and collection of the bin costs £45 per year or part year and is not refundable.

Pay your Council Tax online Fill in the online order form which allows you to make your payment using a credit or debit card
Order a bulky waste collection by post Print off the application form (Word 148kb) and the direct debit form (Pdf 50kb) and return it to Garden Waste Service, Spelthorne Borough Council, Council Offices, Knowle Green, Staines TW18 1XB
