Spelthorne Biodiversity Action Plan
What is Biodiversity?

Biodiversity simply means the 'variety of life'. This includes all life in its various forms such as animals, plants, fungi, even bacteria and viruses.

The UK Steering Group on Biodiversity give a poetic description as follows:

"Biodiversity is all living things, from the tiny garden ant to the giant redwood tree. You will find biodiversity everywhere, in window boxes and wild woods, roadsides and rain forests, snow field and sea shore."

Spelthorne Biodiversity  Action Plan

The Spelthorne Biodiversity Action Plan is a decisive statement of Spelthorne Borough Council's commitment to conserve and enhance biodiversity. It contains actions to improve five major habitat types in Spelthorne, and special actions for three species of conservation concern in the borough.
