Cemeteries-General Conditions
1.  We have four cemeteries and they are "Staines" at London Road Staines, and "Sunbury" at Green Way Sunbury on Thames, and the Burial Grounds are "Ashford" at London Road Stanwell, and "Stanwell" at Town Lane Stanwell.

2.  A scale of fees is published separately each year relating to the purchase of burial rights, interments and memorial rights for residents and non-residents.

3.  For non-residents, all fees will be tripled and this can include previous residents.  Those, who were a resident and pre-purchased a grave plot, will pay the standard fee.

4.  The exclusive right of burial in a grave space allocated by the Council, may be purchased at the time of interment or reserved in advance.  Each grant of right is for a period of 100 years.

5.  Pre-purchased grave spaces, that are unused, will only be re-purchased at the discretion of the Council and at no more than the original purchase cost.

6.  When a funeral cortege enters the cemetery or burial ground it is then under the control of the Council Cemeteries Officer or other authorized person, in attendance at the time.

7.  The cemeteries and burial grounds are open from 9am to 8pm or sunset whichever is earlier.

8.  Children under 12 will not be allowed in the cemeteries and burial grounds, except in the charge of a responsible person.

9.  No dogs will be permitted in the cemeteries and burial grounds, except guide dogs for the blind.

10.  No cycling within the cemeteries and burial grounds is allowed.

11.  The driving and parking of vehicles in the cemeteries and burial grounds shall be at the discretion of the Council.

12.  The planting or cultivating of grave spaces in the lawn sections of the cemeteries and burial grounds is not permitted.


Cemeteries-Memorials
1.  Application forms can be obtained from the Cemetery Office and no memorial can be erected unless approved and the appropriate fee has been paid.

2.  Memorial dimensions can be supplied on application to the Cemetery Office.

3.  All memorials will be of good quality solid stone and fixed to a sound and stable foundation.

4.  In the Lawn sections no railings, kerbs, fencing of any kind shall be erected from the graves.

5.  Memorials in the Lawn section will be erected at the head of the grave in line with adjacent headstones.

6.  The section and grave number must be inscribed on front base of the memorial.

7.  The Council reserve the right to refuse permission for the erection of any memorial or the placing of any inscription which may be considered unsuitable.

8.  Memorials will be erected once the ground has completely settled after an interment, usualy about 6 months.

9.  Memorials are erected at the owners risk and they are responsible for upkeep and maintaining it in a safe condition.


Cemeteries-Interments
1.  Notice of Interment forms can be obtained from the Cemetery Office.  Completed forms together with the correct fees, with either the Registrar's Certificate for Burial or a Coroner's order or the Cremation Certificate for Disposal to be delivered to the Cemetery office two clear working days prior to the interment.

2.  A notice of Interment can initially be booked, by telephone, with the Cemetery Office Manager.  It must be on the day preceeding a least four clear working days before the intended interment and if a bricked grave is required notice must be on the day preceeding at least six clear working days before the intended interment.

3.  All interments shall take place between the hours of 10am and 3pm Monday to Thursday and on Friday, 10am to 2pm.  No interments will take place on Saturday, Sunday or public holidays.

4.  For a grave to be reopened the signed consent of the grantee or their personal representative must be received.

5.  Burials of uncoffined bodies is not allowed.
