Spelthorne Sports Council
Spelthorne Sports Council is a forum of representatives of sports clubs whose membership includes residents of Spelthorne. Currently 50 member clubs represent over 20 sports.

The purpose of the Sports Council is to represent the interests of sport in Spelthorne to the Council and other bodies such as Sport England, and to encourage participation in sport. The Council makes funds available, enabling the Sports Council to award grants to clubs for equipment and to individuals of outstanding ability to assist with the cost of training and competitions. Grant recipients must be members of the Sports Council.

The Sports Council organises Sports Personality awards, quizes and produces a newletter "Spelsport" twice a year. It is represented on the Spelthorne Leisure Centre Customer forum and is consulted on sports matters by the Borough Council.

Membership of Spelthorne Sports Council is open to all clubs based in the Borough and those based outside the Borough with a significant proportion of its membership within Spelthorne. The Annual Membership fee is £15.
