Come and join in with Fun in the Sun
Published 22.07.2008 17:29
This summer, Spelthorne Borough Council is hosting free games and activities for young people across some of the parks in the borough.

The scheme, called Fun in the Sun, is aimed at young people aged between 10 and 12 years old and will take place from 4 to 22 August.  It will run every weekday from 10am to 12pm in different parks throughout the Borough.  Activities on offer will make use of the park facilities and will include sports such as quick cricket, basketball, hockey and tag rugby as well as other informal games.  Where possible, BMX ramps will also be available.

All events are free.  No booking is necessary, just turn up, with your sun cream and suitable clothes, and join in.

Councillor Denise Grant, Portfolio Holder for Children and Young People said “These free events are an excellent opportunity for young people to take part in supervised fun activities in the safe environment of our local parks”
