Garden waste collection calendar (Pdf 660kb) - This information can also be found on My Spelthorne

We are now extending our garden waste collection service.  Make sure you sign up quickly to avoid disappointment, as this offer is only available to 4,000 properties on a first come, first served basis.

What is the cost of the service?
Hire and collection of the bin costs £45 per year or part year and is not refundable. This price will remain fixed for two years.

How does the collection service work?
A brown garden waste wheelie bin will be delivered to you by the Council for your use. You will also receive an annual membership sticker for you to display on your bin and information on your first and ongoing collection day.

The collection service operates for 10 months of the year (excluding December and January) and is collected every two weeks.  Your wheelie bin or bag must be placed kerbside by 6am on the day of your collection. Only garden waste contained within the wheelie bin or bag will be collected. Any lapsed membership will result in the garden waste bin not being collected and the bin will be removed.

What happens to my garden waste? The garden waste is emptied into a dedicated vehicle and then sent to a local facility to be recycled.
