Spelthorne Borough Council is inviting residents to an exhibition in Sunbury Park at which it will present proposals for the management of Sunbury Park and the improvement of the area currently known as TP26* in Sunbury. The exhibition will run from 3 February until 8 February inside the Embroidery Gallery in Sunbury Park and members of staff will be available to answer questions on Saturday 7 February from 11am – 3pm. Feedback forms will be provided at the exhibition so that you can tell us what you think when it’s convenient for you. The deadline for responses is 16 February at 5pm, so please make sure you get your response to the council in time. Spelthorne Council is working on improving the path in the TP26 area to create a cycle path that is a safer route to school for our younger residents. Pictures of the various surfaces being considered will be available to view, along with a draft landscaping improvement plan. Spelthorne Council has commissioned Surrey Wildlife Trust to carry out wildlife surveys and draw up a management plan for Sunbury Park to enhance the park for wildlife. Proposals include an annual hay cut in the park, opening up a trail in the woodland, a reduction in the number of younger trees to help improve conditions for older trees and cutting back scrub to enhance bird and insect habitat. Cllr Grant, Portfolio Holder for Young People and Cultural Services said: “the exhibition will enable us to discuss with local residents plans for Sunbury Park and the TP26 area”. To submit your comments or suggestions please e-mail Environment Services. *TP26 is the park area between Green Street and French Street in Sunbury. This area of land was put aside by Surrey County Council for an additional road in Sunbury. This road was never built, and the land is currently being transferred to Spelthorne Borough Council as a park for the residents of the borough. |
