Walk by the river
Published 28.06.2007 12:02
Works have started at Kings Lawn footpath in Thames Street, Sunbury, to repair the eroded path running alongside the river to make it safe for the general public to use.

After careful planning, the original seats have been moved clear of the work area and the small commemorative tree and plaque just below the upper path have been protected with an enclosure.   New steps are being created to replace the original concrete steps, which were in very poor condition and new benches will also be installed. The lawn area is being improved and the walkway will be created with brushed concrete.

The works are expected to be completed in 4-6 weeks and once re-opened the path will provide walkers with improved access to the towpath and riverside at The Walled Garden in Sunbury.
