Landscaping at Birch Green
Published 22.06.2011 15:46
A public exhibition is being held at the Three Tuns Public House, London Road, from 29 June–3 July to show the Council’s plans to improve Birch Green in Staines.

The Council aims to make the Green more attractive for visitors with plans which include renewed fencing, tree works and new benches. It also wants to encourage more wildlife into the area with enhancements along the River Ash and the creation of a wildflower meadow.

The exhibition will give residents an opportunity to view the plans and leave their comments. Council staff will be available to answer queries on Saturday 2 July from 10.30am-1.30pm.

The Council has received funding for the improvements from the redevelopment of the old Centrica building in Staines. Part of the funding (£20,000) has already been received to develop the plans and a further £20,000 will be made available on completion of the development.

Cabinet Member for Parks and Leisure, Cllr Penny Forbes-Forsyth, said: “We are really keen for residents to see the changes which are planned for Birch Green and to hear what they think of the proposals. I’d encourage people to get involved and help us make the most of this opportunity.”
