Rubbish and recycling collections
Published 19.04.2011 09:59
Easter refuse and recycling collections
Those that have arranged for a street party on their collection day (29 April) will have already made arrangements for a collection.
Otherwise collections will take place as normal over the Bank and Public Holidays.

Please do work with us to make sure that the collection service goes as efficiently as possible and we avoid contamination in the bins.
  • no waste left beside or on top of the rubbish bin
  • close the lid firmly
  • leave the bin by the kerb by 6am on the collection day

A reminder about what can be recycled:
  • junk mail
  • newspapers
  • washed plastic bottles (no tops)
  • washed plastic milk containers (no tops)
  • household paper
  • glass of all colours (no light bulbs, window glass or glass kitchen products like Pyrex)
  • washed cans/tins
  • shredded paper
  • cardboard - including cereal packets
  • magazines and catalogues
  • envelopes
  • Yellow Pages directories
What to put in your rubbish bin:
  • cling film
  • plastic bags/packaging/wrapping
  • food waste (please compost for now until we introduce a collection this autumn)
  • bottle tops, caps and lids
  • yoghurt pots
  • drinks cartons
  • aerosols
  • cold ashes
  • aluminium foil
We are hoping to be able to collect more plastics soon.
Please take batteries to Charlton Lane recycling centre
