Childminders are required to register with their local Social Services
if they look after children under eight years old for more than two hours per day.
Registration is carried out by the Day Care Advisers and they are responsible
for the regular reviews of the childminders.
Although all registered childminders have undergone a number of checks
to ensure they adhere to guidelines of good practice, it is recommended that visits are made to a number
of childminders to compare levels of care.
