	What is Sustainable Development? The goal of sustainable development is to enable all people to satisfy their needs and enjoy a better quality of life without sacrificing the needs of future generations What is Spelthorne doing? Spelthorne Borough Council has recently adopted the Sustainable Development Strategy. This Strategy sets out how the Council will tackle cross-cutting issues through a comprehensive range of environmental, economic and social actions. This Strategy provides guidance for the council and our residents to strengthen our resilience and ensure that we face a future that is more secure.
