How you can help Spelthorne work together

Residents from across Spelthorne are invited to have their say at the annual assembly meeting of the Spelthorne Together (formerly known as the Local Spelthorne Partnership) on 15 September. Held at Spelthorne Leisure Centre, the event will bring together representatives from the public, private, voluntary and community sectors.

This year, the Assembly will include presentations and discussions on topics of local interest based around the five main geographical areas of Spelthorne – Staines / Shepperton / Stanwell / Ashford and Sunbury, with a view to considering the main challenges facing them and how, by working together, we can improve them.

Spelthorne Together is made up of a number of key organisations, including Spelthorne Council, Surrey County Council, Surrey Primary Care Trust and Surrey Police as well as businesses and the voluntary and community sector who all work to make Spelthorne a better place.

Council Leader John Packman commented: ‘I urge as many residents as possible to take this opportunity of taking part in the discussions at the Assembly.  We have significant challenges ahead of us and, by working together, residents, the Council, voluntary groups, businesses and so on, we can get things done and greatly  improve the lives of Borough residents.’

The Assembly is open and free to anyone who lives or works in Spelthorne. Booking is essential as places are allocated on a first come first served basis. Anyone wishing to attend can complete a booking form at www.spelweb.com or contact June Stillwell on 01784446221 or at partnerships@spelthorne.gov.uk before the 22 August deadline.
