  Fear of Crime Business Survey

Aims This survey was carried out to help inform the Spelthorne Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnership's new Crime and Disorder Reduction Strategy for 2005-2008. A separate household survey of residents was also carried out.
Methodology This survey was carried out using a self completion postal methodology. A random sample of 1,500 surveys were distributed to businesses across the borough, with a second copy of the survey sent to all non respondents after 3-4 weeks.
Overview The survey included sections on issues in the businesses neighbourhood, respondents' experiences of crime and their perception of safety.
Response Rate A response rate of 40% was achieved
