Beware bogus Council Tax calls
Spelthorne Council has become aware that fraudsters claiming to be from the British Council appear to be targeting Spelthorne residents. They are contacting residents by telephone and telling them that they need to know their bank account details in order to give them a Council Tax refund.
The Spelthorne Council Tax team never contacts taxpayers by telephone to ask for bank details and if residents receive such a call they should end the conversation - if calls persistent, they should contact the Police.
For more information call the Council Tax team on 01784 446490.
