The application will be considered by the Planning Committee on 9 March 2011 and not 9 February. A copy of the committee report will be available on the Council’s website five working days before that meeting. The committee will be making a recommendation to Surrey County Council who will make the final decision on the application. The application will be determined by Surrey County Council (SCC) as Mineral Planning Authority. Two reports will be considered by the Planning Committee on Wednesday 9 February 2011 at 7pm in the Council Chamber. The first relates to Hazelwood golf course and the second relates to The Avenue. The Public Inquiry on the two will start on Tuesday 7 June 2011. The Inquiry will be held in the Council Offices, Knowle Green, Staines and will sit for 12 days. A decision is not likely before the autumn as the appeals will be decided by the Secretary of State rather than the Inspector. Charlton Lane and Eco Park

Spelthorne Home Improvement Agency receives Quality Mark
The agency received the Quality Mark from Foundations, the national body for home improvement agencies appointed by Communities and Local Government, in recognition of the high quality services it delivers. It was one of only nine agencies in England to be assessed for the new Quality Mark. It was assessed in a range of areas including duty and care to clients and staff; fair access; diversity and inclusion; privacy and confidentiality; developing client-based services. Food parcels are collected and distributed from St Saviour’s centre on the Parade, Sunbury Cross, every Monday and Thursday morning. Recipients can have their parcel delivered to their home or collect it in person – with the added benefit of a cup of tea, biscuit and chat into the bargain. Donations of food are very welcome – the list of suggested items include mainly non-perishable items such as tinned food, breakfast cereals, jam, puddings, cakes, tea, rice, cook-in sauces and so on. Suitable household items such as soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toilet rolls and cleaning products are also welcome. Cash donations are also needed.
